Spending two days in the educational farm
The educational farm provides young people with a hands-on experience of history, activities and traditions of the Cansiglio plateau.
Programs include guided visits to the "Cimbri" Ethnography Museum and the Ecology Museum “G.Zanardo” as well as to our dairy facilities, where students can attend the whole milk processing cycle from milking to packaging.
Activities take place in April, May, June, September, October, November, on Wednesdays and Fridays.
All students are given a brochure about the cheese production cycle.
First day program
10.00 h - Arrival at the Centro Agrituristico in Tambre; accommodation in the rooms or in a partner hotel; moving to the Cansiglio Forest with a guide for beeches and fir-trees observation; during the visit wood treatment and management as well as cutting criteria will be explained.
13.00 h - Picnic lunch in an equipped area;
14.30 h - Visit to the "Cimbri" Ethnography Museum with focus on wood working.
On this occasion guests can attend traditional wood cutting in a typical Cimbri hut;
18.00 h - Back to Tambre;
19.30 h - Dinner in the partner hotel;
21.00 h - Meeting in the meeting room of the Centro.
Second day program
8.30 h - Breakfast at the Centro agrituristico with local organic products;
9.30 h - Visit to the dairy facilities to attend the milk processing cycle up to cheese production.
12.30 h - Moving to Pian Cansiglio at the Bar Bianco and free-of-charge tasting of fresh, ripened, smoked, raw and cooked cheeses (For dinner a prior reservation is required; dinner menu requests by phone are also accepted);
14.00 h - Visit to the Ecology Museum “G.Zanardo” belonging to State Forest Authority. A guide will explain the peculiarities of local forest birds and animals.
15.30 h - Moving to a small stable in Spert d’Alpago where students will attend a traditional milking demonstration (by hand).;
16.30 h - Departure
