Canederli Casera (Bread dumplings)
Ingredients (for 4 people):
30 gr. onion - 20 gr. butter - 100 gr. "CASERA del Cansiglio" cheese (fresh cheese) - 150 gr. stale bread, cubed - 2 eggs - 100 ml CANSIGLIO HIGHEST-QUALITY FRESH MILK - flour, salt, pepper and chives as required
Preparation:
Simmer chopped onion in a pan with butter. Cut “CASERA del Cansiglio” cheese into cubes, add to bread and pour into the onion pan. Mix eggs and milk together and add to the blend. Add enough flour till a smooth mixture is obtained. By your wet fingers shape the mixture into small balls and boil them in abundant lightly salted water. Dress with melted butter, grated "Cansiglio stagionato” cheese and chives.
